How to move files from an Android phone to a PC — illustrated guide
THE SHORT VERSION

Move selected photos, documents and folders to your Windows computer without uploading them to a cloud drive.

STEP 01

Pick the minimum useful data

For a file transfer, select the folders you actually need and confirm the destination on your Windows computer. For a support screenshot, show the error and enough context to identify the problem.

STEP 02

Check before you send

Look for names, notifications, account details and other private information. Transfer only material the owner has agreed to share, using a trusted local USB or same-network Wi-Fi connection.

Keep the owner in control

Agree on the task, explain changes before making them and end sharing when the work is done.

STEP 03

Verify the copy

Open a sample of copied files or inspect the screenshot before sharing it. Do not delete the original until you have confirmed that the saved copy is complete and usable.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

Start with one small task.

Download CaIoT RemoteViewer for the local Android toolkit, or book a demo to walk through the remote service that fits your situation. Check device compatibility and the current plan details before you begin.
