Agreement
By downloading, installing or using CaIoT RemoteViewer, CaIoT Companion or CaIoT CamViewer (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Acceptable Use Policy. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you can accept these Terms on its behalf.
Permission is required
You may only access a device, screen or camera that you own or that its owner has clearly authorized you to access. You are responsible for getting and recording that permission, and for complying with privacy and recording laws where you and the device are located.
Your account
Remote services need an account. Keep your sign-in details and session codes private, and tell us promptly at team@caiot.co if you think your account has been misused.
Free and paid features
Local features are free. Free accounts include 250 remote session minutes per month. Remote Android, Remote Desktop and Remote Camera Access are paid subscriptions that include a monthly allowance of remote session minutes, as listed on our Pricing page, billed monthly or annually in Canadian dollars plus applicable taxes. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; annual plans are charged in full at the start of each yearly term. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. See our Refund Policy.
Remote minutes and sessions
Remote session minutes count the time a remote session is connected over the internet; local USB and Wi-Fi features do not use minutes. Your plan’s minutes are one shared pool across all remote services on your account. Allowances reset at the start of each billing month, including on annual plans, and unused minutes do not roll over. When your allowance runs out, remote sessions pause until it resets; we do not charge overage fees. One remote session can be active at a time per account, on any number of your devices. Enterprise / High Usage agreements may set different allowances and limits in writing.
Price changes
We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you at least 30 days before a price change affects your subscription, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Third-party services
Some features connect to services we don’t control, such as YouTube for live streaming, Google Calendar for demo booking and Stripe for payments. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.
Licence and ownership
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service under these Terms. CaIoT keeps all rights in the software, brand and content. Don’t copy, resell, reverse engineer or build a competing product from the Service, except where the law allows it.
Availability
We work to keep remote services reliable, but they depend on the internet and third-party infrastructure. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid features.
Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Always keep your own backups.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, CaIoT is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $50 if you have not paid us. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or to protect people or the Service. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and the courts there have jurisdiction, unless your local consumer law gives you the right to bring claims where you live.
Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant we will notify account holders before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
